Child Psychiatry

Child psychiatry is a sub-branch under the broad field of Psychiatry which is dedicated for children only. This branch mainly focuses on the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of mental disorders in children, adolescents, and their families.  It involves the researches of the psychological and social factors that influence the development and course of these psychiatric disorders and treatment responses to various interventions. Child psychiatry also treats problems of hyperactivity, significant attention disorders etc. There can also be more serious disorders, such as schizophrenia, which can manifest very early in life. Therapists identify the problem a child is facing by speaking and listening to them and thereby can find a way to help them improve. Experts also prescribe medicines for treatment depending on the case.
