About City

Rome is one of the most exquisite cities in the world; every year millions of tourists come from around the world to eulogize the treasures and masterpieces of Roman art and architecture. It is nicknamed the Eternal City for a reason.  The challenge is deciding what not to do: there are so many churches, archaeological sites, piazzas and paintings to see that a lifetime is hardly enough. The innumerable sites of attraction that had attracted tourists for ages are; The Arch of Constantine, The Pantheon, The Palazzo Del Quirinale, Castel Sant’Ängelo,  the unique art forms in fresco and mosaic in the various churches of  Santa Maria Maggiore and San Paolo Fuori le Mura.

Rome is the only city in the world to contain in its interior a whole state; the enclave of Vatican City. Rome has a status of the global city. Rome’s historic centre is listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. Monuments and museums such as the Colosseum and the Vatican Museums are among the world’s most visited tourist destinations with these two locations receiving millions of tourists a year.

Art enthusiasts will relish the trove of art housed at the Vatican Museums, and foodies will enjoy the splendid Italian fare, not to mention the gelato. The food is a big part of why a vacation in Rome can be so unforgettable. From cheap eats to high-end restaurants like La Pergola, visitors can enjoy a variety of excellent Italian cuisine to fit their budget. Rome is also well known for its shopping districts, most notably Campo de’ Fiori, the oldest market in the city, Via del Corso and the luxury designer stores.
